Erik Garcia

We are very fortunate to have been joined in 2017 by our brilliant new accompanist, Erik García.

Erik graduated from Musikene – Centro Superior de Música del País Vasco (Spain) in 2013 under the tutelage of Emmanuel Ferrer-Laloë. He has broadened his knowledge as accompanist and répétiteur with Malcolm Martineau, Maciej Pikulski, Rubén Fernández, Enrique Ricci, Jonathan Papp and Mark Hastings.

In 2015, Erik García was selected for the Georg Solti Accademia Répétiteurs Masterclasses and invited to accompany the Singing Masterclasses in Castiglione Della Pescaia (Italy). He has been the official accompanist of L’Art du Chant Français summer programme (2014, 2015). Erik has participated as répétiteur in Don Giovanni (British Youth Opera), Die Fledermaus, Agrippina, Cosí fan tutte, The Bear (RCS), Hansel and Gretel (40th St Magnus International Festival) and Die Zauberflöte (Lyric Opera Studio Weimar).

Erik García finished the Master of Music in Répétiteurship at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. He is recipient of the Hester Dickson Accompanist Prize and the James H Geddes Bursary for Répétiteurs, and he is grateful to the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland Trust and the Roderick Brydon Memorial Trust for their support. Erik will be Assistant Conductor of the Opera Project "The Day After" at the RCS in 2018.
